I have been using the personal AVG for the last few months. I like it and
will continue to use it.

Here lately, when I receive a email post in IE, it will append a "paper
clip" in front of the subject like it does if there is an attachment and
there is no attachment. I have verified it the be the E-mail Scanner phase
causing it. I can disable that phase and it doesn't append the "clip". I
have gone through the routine on/off several times so I'm sure that is doing
it.

It didn't used to do that so I must have inadvertently changed something. I
just haven't figured out what I changed. Anyone familiar with it have a
clue?

The paperclip in email showed up with one of the major updates of
AVG--it's not something you caused or changed.

Thank you Anne. I wonder what idiot thought that up? Hopefully they will
remove it in the next update. It used to mean something ie, an attachment.
I may look around for an alternate.

You don't have to be very old to realize that "new" is not necessarily
"improved," huh? ;-)

No, and I go back to where radios were crystal sets w/ a 100 foot antenna
strung from the house to a tree. It's spooky, the technology nowadays.

Ain't it the truth? The way it works is that they keep perfecting
things until they get them perfect -- then, what are they supposed
to do, except change them? That's their job. But the things are
already perfect, so when they change them, they screw them up.
Then they start working on perfecting them again.

Except for M$. They just like to keep things screwed up!
