I have a file \DOCUME~1\ADMINI~\Application Data\AVG7\LOG\emc.log that
has grown to over 5.5 MB is there any way to clean it. Under
service>event history log Bottom Delete Log does not clear it.
Thanks,
Stan

It's because it's constantly in use.

Before you shut down do Cntl, Alt Del close Avgemc and then it will
delete

Thanks Andy that was the process I needed. On reset it recreate itself
and was 513 bytes.

Now try making it read only and see if AVG accepts that.

Be simpler to do away with the superfluous and redundant email scanner.

Why is the email scanner redundant? 2 of the 7 emails I just got it
found virus/worms in.

Had you tried to open them or execute the attachment, AVG's resident
scanner would have stopped it in its tracks anyway. No real need to scan
all your email as it's downloaded. JMO.

Second that. The email scanner is pointless.

Open Control Center.
Double click on E-mail Scanner.
Click on Properties.
The center tab is Logging.
You can set when the log file is recreated (daily, weeklt, etc)
or you can limit the log file size.

It prevents them both being received and propogated onto the network
for other to fall foul of. Anything that might prevent them
circulating can't be a bad thing can it ?
