AVG Antivirus-FREE edition

I am trying the AVG.6 free edition of the Anti-Virus and I cannot open the
program to start it. I get a box with {AVG Kernel Error...Language File
Failed} I cannot uninstall either. Same error. I do have two AVG rescue
disks that I made prior to this issue. Any ideas?
 
AVG 6 was discontinued DEC 31. upgrade to the FREE version 7.
