A couple of days ago installed SP2. No problems. I did as was told by the
Microsoft site and disabled my anti-virus for the install. After the reboot
it started again. Everything ok except recieved a message from the Security
Center asking me if I had an anti-virus. I said yes and the Security Center
said that the program was not being monitored and that I'd have to monitor
it. No great problem.
My son installed SP2 on his computer last night. I didn't have a chance to
talk to him first so he didn't know about turning off the anti-virus for
the install. He installed it with his anti-virus on. No problems but his
system DOES see his anti-virus and it IS being monitored. We are both using
AVG anti-virus. So is turning off your anti-virus a mistake and not
intended by the SP2 programers but only tacked on after because SOME anti-
virus programs caused problems?
