Just installed a P4 3.2 gig chip and my temps are 44c and 111f, just running
internet 2d operations.
Is this about the normal range, I know they will go higher when gaming.

TIA

Intel P4s are seriously toasty chips. Sounds quite good TBH.

For the Prescott CPU's, which you have one of, yes, that is average. They
run hot by design.

I run a P$ 3.2 GHz Prescott on an Intel D865GFB mobo. With it doing
nothing, my temp is at 40C. It only goes up 2 or 3 degrees for light
processing like e-mail, web browsing, and word processing.

When I get it running full blast on a big Photoshop batch job, it will
get up to the 54-56C range. It never seems to hit the warning level of
57C unless my processor cooling fins are getting dirty. (I use a Zalman
7000 Cu heatsink/fan.)

I figure that Intel's Active Monitor should know if it's too hot. It did
move the warning levels up when I went from my 3.0 Northwood to the 3.2
Prescott. So I wouldn't worry about 44C at all.

I'm curious as to how high it will get when you do gaming. I would think
that the graphics card would take most of that and that's where your
real heat build up would be. (I don't do gaming.)
