It seems that whenever I install and configure the
Aventail Connect client (any version), a VPN software
client, my Outlook no longer sees my Exchange server
either on the LAN or WAN.

This is with either RPC or TCP/IP configured.

Not sure if anyone has seen this or what I should do to
begin troubleshooting this.

There is no documentation on the web, as of yet.

Please help if you can!

Thanks!

Have you checked with your Network Admin or the provider of the VPN
software?

How sure are you of Aventail/Outlook connection. I too
am having trouble with Outlook 2002 on XP. I keep getting
prompted for my network password as if the network is dead
but the rest of my resources are available. This happened
about when I installed Aventail I think. Please let me
know and can you just uninstall Aventail - how?

I just confirmed that by removing Aventail Connect my
problem with Outlook 2002 and XP was fixed. This has been
studied by some pretty good IT heads for the last month
without success. Thanks for your tip. Aventail is a cool
product and now I will have to try to figure out why it is
breaking Outlook. It is a SOCKS client. That is about as
much as I know about it. If you get any more info mail me
at (e-mail address removed). Thanks again.
