I want Outlook to automatically check email when I open Outlook. Is there a
way I can do this without clicking the "Send-Receive" button?

Thanks, (e-mail address removed)

If you've got scheduled polling of a POP3 mailbox setup, Outlook should poll
when it starts. What version of Outlook are you using?

I have Outlook 2003 running. I went to "Tools", options, mail setup,
send-receive,
put a check in the box that says "Schedule an automaticsend/receive every
.... 15 minutes. Also I checked the perform an atuomatic send/receive when
exiting.

Still no "Auto Receive" on startup.

What accounts are included in your send/receive group? It's very odd but
maybe your mail account isn't in the group.

I have not set up any groups. I am the only one using this computer. I am the
only user. I don't see anywhere I can set up a group. I wouldn't know why I
would have a group.

In the Send/Receive settings there should at least be one 'group' here:
Tools menu > Send/Receive settings > Define Send/Receive Groups
