I guess that the command line says it all, really. For some reason the
"autorun" feature isn't working when I put in a CD. Whether I put in a new
application CD-ROM, or a music CD, or even a memory card into the disk
reader from my digital camera, the autorun isn't working. I don't know what
I did. I'm not normally so clueless, but I am today. Please, if anyone can
remind me of what the solution is, I'll appreciate it a lot. I hate being
ADD sometimes! ;)

Have a blessed day!

The Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard scans your computer devices to find defective AutoPlay settings, and attempts to fix those it finds. Download Autofix utility from here:

Yes, it is :o)

But not officially released by Microsoft, initially. Announced this as of recent and made available in their servers. Kelly and Jerold Schulman hosted this utility long back, before MS released this in their download site.

JSI Tip 6952. AutoFix freeware can fix problems with Windows XP Autoplay.:

Are you sure this is a _real_ Microsoft utility as it's only 75K [g]

Autorun on cd-rom,dvd not working. I don`t know how to fix it. loosing this feature is making me unhappy . I am hoping to get your support and help to resolve this problem

Thanks
Salah

Right click the drive in explorer or my computer... click "properties" at
the bottom of the menu... select the "AutoPlay" tab in the box...

The drop down list will give a choice of what file types to act on... while
the bottom box will give a list of actions to perform... The rest is up to
you...

Although I for one think AutoPlay is bloody annoying and I am getting
stressed out cos even though I selected "Take no action" for every file
type, AutoPlay still insists on popping up a explorer window... GRRRRR!

Thanks for this information. Reading the post even though it was not
intended for me. XP-Pro completely updated, New Pentium 4. I have had
problems installing programs in this computer because Autorun does not
recognize my new Plextor PX-504-A CD/DVD drive. I guess After reading the
support document I should just wait for the next service pack rather than
swapping drives out till I find one XP likes....

again. Thanks a lot for this thread.
