Autorun not working

When I insert a Data CD in to CD Drive, Autorun.exe does not work, even when
double clicked.
I have uninstalled , removed and reinstalled but all to no effect.
Can anyone please help

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: AUTOPLAY , and hit enter.
3. Click on: "Change how your computer handles multimedia content".

Hi Squire
Windows XP SP2.
I have run the "Autoplay.fix as suggested, this has repaired audio play but
not "Autorun"
Also I have just received this email message which I do not understand??

What may have happened is when the XP auto run box pops up asking what you
wish to do with this type of disk, something other then auto-run was selected
and the option to use this all of the time was selected.

Hi Carey,
I did as you suggested but although "Autoplay" is now working OK, "Autorun"
is still not working.
Any further ideas please.
Also on replying to "Squir" received the following message from "DLISTa
