I have a Dell 4550 running Windows XP home. When I insert an audio or a data disc into the CD or the DVD player, the autorun feature does not work. If I go to Explorer and locate the Autorun.exe file, I can run the CD. In Control panel, I go to device manager but cannot find any reference to activate/deactivate the autorun feature. What can I do to get this feature running?

Go to this site;
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
and run the script on line 234 that says Autoplay Repair Tool. See if that
helps.

Try this, Go to my computer and Right Click the drive you want to auto run, click properties and select the auto play tab. You have to select an action for each type of disk that you will put in that particular drive. Hope this helps.
