Autopopup Folder

I have an folder called C:\Documents and Settings\Local
Settings\Temp\autopopup. Everytime I view a web page, a
new file is placed in the autopopup folder with a name
like htm91.tmp or htm92.tmp. The file contains the html
code of the web page I just viewed. I can accumulate
1000's of these files in just a few days. I can't figure
out how these files are being created. I have an up to
date version of Norton Anti-Virus installed and it gives
me a clean bill of health. Does anyone have any ideas?

Start | Run | type: %TEMP% | OK
In the Temp folder, on the Edit menu, click Select All, press the DELETE key,
and then click Yes to confirm that you want to send all the items to the
Recycle Bin.

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.

On the General tab, click Delete Files.

Click to select the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK.

Click Start, and then click My Computer.

Right-click the drive that you want to clean, and then click Properties.

Click Disk Cleanup to run the Disk Cleanup tool.

I'll bet you picked up some adware somewhere. Go to
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/ and download the adaware
software. It will do the same thing for data miners and spyware and adware
that norton does for viruses and I'll bet you will be surprised how much of
that garbage is on your computer running way way in the background so you
don't even know it is there. It sounds like that file is storing information
for pop up ads or something and there is something on your pc causing that
to happen. Let me know if this helps you at all

I actually had already installed and run the Adware
program. You are right that I was surprised at all of
the tracking cookies that I had. I clean it all of and
have blocked most cookies from my machine. I can delete
the Autopopup folder, but it just reappears when I access
the web. I'll continue to search for a solution and will
post it if I find one. If you have any other ideas,
please let me know. Thanks for the input.
