I'm sure that in the past, when I replied to an email from a sender for the
first time, outlook automatically created an entry in my contacts list for
that sender.

I'm concious that my current version (outlook2003) doesn't seem to be doing
that, and I can't find the option to do that. Am I hallucinating, or just
stupid ?

Could you be referring to Outlook's autocomplete feature where the "reply
to" information is stored in a cache file called an NK2?

Many people "think" that the information is stored in a contact folder when
in fact "sent e-mail" addresses are stored in a separate, hidden, system
file.
