PPT 2002 incorporated a new feature called "Triggers". They reside under
the Custom Animations taskpane for a given object. You can use this method
instead of using VBA code to animate objects (assuming you have something to
click to start the animation).
Were you using code before? I've never used PPT 98 (I believe to be a MAC
version). If so, post your problem code and someone will help out.

"Success, something you measure when you are through succeeding."
PC '98 version you could in custom antimation select either when text or
animation would appear by mouse click or automated and the amount of time.
So I could on a slide have certain items appear without clicking mouse.
Can't seem to find the same way to set it in 2002 version.
When you select an object, right-click it and select "Custom Animation" the
taskpane appears. You click the "Effect" dropdown and select which type to
use. The default "Start" is "On Click". If you want items to be timed,
change subsequent ones to "After Previous". Then select the item in the
right-hand pane and click the dropdown arrow and select "Timings". Here you
can set the delay.
Personally, I think this is much more cumbersome than previous dialog box
versions, but...
Hope this help!
