Hi,

does anybody knwo how I can automatically change the reference number to an
automatically numbered style.

For example:Somewhere in my document I refer to a figure in my text. This
figure was automatically numbered. If I insert a new figure before this
figure the number is increased with one. Now I want the reference also to
increase with one?
How can this be realized?

wfr, Philippe.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Q296em4=?=,

Figure numbering and figure references are maintained by Word fields (SEQ and
REF fields, for the most part). You should be able to force the fields to
update: Ctrl+A (select all), then F9 (update fields in the selection).

Cindy's reply is based on the assumption that you have used Insert |
Reference | Cross-reference to create your cross-reference.
