Outlook 2003

On some computers, when clicking on the Contacts shortcut, the contact view
is opened, and the first contact is highlighted.

On others, the contact view is opened, but no contact is highlighted.

What makes this happen?
Is there a setting somewhere?

No setting. It's a side effect. Others have reported it in OL 2003 as
well. When one changes folders, the selection isn't active.

It's not Outlook 2003. It's using the Outlook Today Folder in Outlook 2003.
Turn it off.

So, as long as one has "Outlook Today" selected as the "start in" location,
then one will see this effect? Interesting.
