Is there a way to enter the street address, city, state,
etc... for all new objects that are created in Active
Directory? We wind up typing the same information in
every time we create a new user.

Thanks

I don't know if you can do such a thing with AD. However, there is a tool named ADModify which you can use to edit multiple users at the same time. It is a great tool. It is free and it was created by a couple of Microsoft programer. You can donwload it from here

ftp.microsoft.com/PSS/Tools/Exchange%20Support%20Tools/ADModif

It looks like there was a problem when trying to modify The OFFICE field, or some fieldreleated to Address. Do a search for ADModify in this site if you have problems. It seems to be fixed.

Create a user and define such settings and use it as a template by right
click it and click copy. Some settings can't inheritance such description.
How ever Windows Server 2003 Administration Tool have an updated version of
dsa.msc (Active Directory Users and Computers) it supports editing
attributes on multiple objects. This tool can handle Windows2000 Domains as
well but have to be installed on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. WALDOCR
have a another solution you may should have a look at also.

ADModify is an awesome tool. However, as Waldocr states, there is indeed an
issue with the office field in version 1.5! This was corrected with version
1.5g. If you need it simply e-mail me ( at this address ) I will send you
version 1/5g - which I cannot include in this post as it is too large.
