How do I automatically "complete" an e-mail address in the "To" line in
Outlook? What I'd like to do is to start typing an e-mail address and have
the program automatically complete it for me, and I can hit the Enter key to
accept the program's suggestion. I recently changed from Outlook Express,
where I did that all the time. Thank you.

Go to Tools, Options, under Preferance click Email Options, then click
Advanced Email Options. Place a check next to "Suggest names while
completing...". Over time this cache will build up so that you can select
names after typeing only a few letters.

Try hitting the tab key after you type part of the name
and a squiggly red line will appear under what you typed
if there are more than one name that satisfies the search
criteria you keyed. Then right click and it will bring up
a list you can choose from.

If only one name satisfies the search criteria, that name
will be put in the To (or cc or bcc) box

Depends on your version of Outlook. OL2000 and earlier have only
AutoResolve - meaning, if you start typing the name, and hit check names or
move to a different field, it will look up the name in your address
book/contacts. There's no autocomplete.

In OL2002 and up, Outlook will autocomplete entries you've typed in before
as well as use autoresolve but it doesn't do lookups to the address
book/contacts for autocomplete.
