Automatic Year Completion

Is it possible to have Access automatically complete the year in a date
entry. We want to be able to type "7/8/6" and make Access complete "7/8/2006"

Any ideas?

Huh?

I can do it in Access 2002... In fact, for the current year, all I type is
7/8 and I get 07/08/2006 because I set the date format to mm/dd/yyyy [that's
strictly for the leading zeros]. For previous years, I type 7/8/5 etc.
That seems to be standard behaviour though.

What version are you running? My 2002 lets me enter like that. Is your
field datatype DateTime?

I believe that is standard behaviour, I don't see the problem. In fact, for
the current year, entering just 7/8 will be autocompleted to 7/8/2006; and
7/8/5 will turn into 7/8/2005 etc. If you want leading zeros, you can format
the date field mm/dd/yyyy.
