Automatic Updates

I have set up XP Pro to auto download updates from which I can then install.
Problem is I keep getting the same update. I looked in the Update History on
MS's site and which shows that original update was installed about a year
ago. It now also shows many unsucessful attempts to install the already
installed update. How can I get rid of that particular update notice for
good without interrupting fiture update notices?

Prevent Windows Update from prompting you to install a Hotfix you know is

Thanks for your reply. I followed the first link you provided. Then I
followed the instructions in the kb article but this is a driver update
released in 2001 for VIA Technologies so no six number article exists. Any
other ideas?

Sorry, no other ideas at this stage. You could try the Windows Update NG stating
which update is annoying you so that you don't get the same response I've
already provided. You will also need to state your OS etc.
