Request assistance with automatic update feature:

Problem: Set automatic update to automatic and after about 10 minutes or
so, it shifts to turning itself off. Even tried doing it from the MS Update
web site and even changed the register file to no avail. If you set it to
auto and reboot it goes back to manual/off. Racking my brain out on this one
and could use some help. Thanks, Rick

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Thank PA Bear. Thought it might be a Malware issue. Will execute Hijackware
recommendations. "RT"
