On my new laptop with WinXP Professional, I have
automatic updates turned off. Every time I log
on, I get a persistent balloon that informs me
that I may be at risk because I have automatic
updates turned off. I don't need this information.
How can I stop the warning without turning on
automatic updates?

Thanks for your help.
Mike.

He knows how to turn off Automatic Updates; he has turned them off. He
wants to know how to stop the nag.

Mike - Control Panel>Security Center>left side of window>"Change how
Security Center alerts me"

Uncheck as desired.

Control Panel | Security Center. In the left pane change the way security
center alerts me.

Never noticed. Thought they were the typical help stuff, which never helps.
Worked for me. Thanks.
