The Windows Media Player Script Commands (KB828026) is
continously downloading. I am asked to install it, which
I do, but then the next time I am online it begins to
automatically download again. I have had no problems like
this with other automatic updates.

Nathan,
Go to the 'Windows Update' site. Click 'Scan for Updates. After scan
completes, click on the left side menu 'Personalize Windows Update'. Under
heading 'Choose which categories and updates to display on Windows Update'
uncheck Media Player Script Commands (KB828026), scroll back to top of page
and 'Save Settings'. You can uncheck any other updates you feel you don't
need.

Hi Nathan,

First, uninstall it (Control Panel/Add & Remove, it's listed as "Windows
Media Player Hotfix 828026"). Then download the stand-alone version from the
catalog option at the update site and install it that way instead. If you
don't see the catalog option, add it using personalize.
