automatic update in xp keeps asking me to install

I got the patches installed on the xp computer through windows update but
automatic update keeps wanting to install them again. (says it downloaded it
waiting to install)

Where can i find the patch files in xp to delete this?

I'm having the same problem. I read somewhere that one of the worms going around makes it so you cannot update your windows. My windows xp updates but whenever I restart the computer or log off and log in it asks me to install the update again. Anyway to fix this?

Prevent Windows Update from prompting you to install a Hotfix
you know is already installed:
