Does it just shut down, or shut down and restart?

If the latter, disable the "automatically restart" default. Control
Panel|SYSTEM|ADVANCED|START UP & RECOVERY. At least that way there may be
an error message, and you can begin to sleuth the problem.

Yes it shuts down and restarts. It warns me before it shuts down, but their is no error message

That may change, once you UNcheck the "automatically restart" box.

My computer also shuts down every couple of hours and I do get an error.
However the error says that something is wrong with my ram and gives me a
memory analyzer tool that checked it all out but the problem keeps
happening. Could that happen from high bandwith usage?

No.
RAM errors are very common. Sometimes you can change the memory timings in
BIOS setup. Run a boot floppy with Memtest86 from http://memtest86.com to
test RAM. You may need to buy new RAM module. Using two RAM modules often is
trouble.

mine has been doing the same thing but there is no error message and it doesn't reboot ... it's just off. What's more, the power on button won't work. I have to disconnect the power cord and reconnect, then my power on button will work. This usually happens after long periods of non-use but it's happened in the middle of using my machine. I've run norton anti-virus check, scan disk, defrag, etc. Any thoughts?

Mine shuts down and restarts with no error message. I could be doing something at the time..it will just restart right in the middle of it
I have did a complete restore and ran the virus thing and did the worm thing..nothing is helping...HELP!!!

i have had this same problem for many months now. It shuts down and restarts without warning. I have scanned the computer and removed viruses but it still happens sometimes, expecially when i am browsing the web. Has your computer been fixed?
