Install McAfee anti virus, spam killer, spyware, and now my computer will
not shut off automatically. An IBM ThinkPad R32 What went wrong?

well, there are about 3 million bugs in windows xp and mcafee, as
compared to 28,000 in windows 98

That's only because the counter rolls over at 32767 in 98 ;-)
