Automatic Shutdown

My computer automatically shuts down with no restart and no warning messages. I ran all my programs and going online through a cable modem works perfectly, but it only shuts down unexpectedly when I play everquest online

Please help

If the PC spontaneously reboots, it is experiencing an error - perhaps due
to hardware or a driver. To see the error message, open Control
Panel|SYSTEM and click the ADVANCED tab. In the Start Up and Shut down
area click SETTINGS and UNcheck the "automatically restart" box.
 
when i try to shut down it switches to stand by or log off but wont let me select shut down?
