Hi all,

I have recently installed Outlook 2003. When I used Outlook Express previously, I just opened OE & my mail was automatically downloaded.

This does not happen with Outlook 2003.

Is there a setting somewhere that I have missed to automatically receive emails when I open Outlook & also download & notify me about new mail as soon as I receive it?

Thanks,

David.

Hi David,
1. Open Microsoft Outlook up. I use the XP or 2002 version, but this should
work for older and later versions.
2. TOOLS | OPTION | MAIL SETUP
3. Under the section "Send/Recieve" there will be a button
labeled..."Send/Recieve." Click it.
4. Make sure you have the "All Accounts" selection in the upper box
selected. Then go to the check boxes beneath the white selection box and
click the checks to "Include this group in Send/Recieve (F9)" and "Schedule
an automatic send/recieve every ___ minutes." In the blank tell the program
how many minutes you want between automatic Send/Recieves.
The settings under "When Outlook is Online" would set how often you want it
to send/recieve when outlook is open. The other selection, "When Outlook is
Offline" is when it is not on.

Thanks Schönen,

I knew there must have been an easy way of doing it.
Your suggestion seems to have worked, thanks again.

David.
