.
Go to tools, options and click on the mail setup tab.
Under there you will see a send/recieve button if you
click on that there are a options of how often to check
you messages.

Odd, with mine I go: Tools -> Options -> General tab -> there I check
a box to tell it to check my email and enter how many often to do so.
Then again, this is OE5 that I'm checking.

This newsgroup is concerned with Microsoft Outlook, not Outlook Express.
Microsoft Outlook is the email/PIM client which is provided with Microsoft
Office. No wonder you don't see the same options.

Could be that I read "XP" as express, DOH! I run Outlook 2000 and OE5
depending on what I need to look at.
