Hello Group.
I have a silly question: Earlier my Win XP Pro let me in without asking for
a logon. Now it has (after some update..?) begun to ask for me to press my
account to log on. I only have this one account and it is silly to have the
computer wait every time I boot it. How do I turn this feature off?
Regards,
Kim

Hi Kim

Try this:

From Start>Run type in

control userpasswords2

then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
and then reboot your system.

Or you can use Tweak UI:

You can download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and when
installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to
Logon>Autologon.

Hi Will,
Thanks. That did it. But strange thing is: I know that this control has been
there before, I have used it, but now I couldn't find it anywhere. Has it
been removed from normal access?
