I have a Windows XP Pro machine with only one user account (mine), and of
course it is the administrator account. I do not have a password set. When
the welcome screen appears I always have to click my own icon to get into
Windows. I would like to go from powerup right into Windows without any
stops along the way, like it does on my Windows XP Home machine. Thank you!

just go into the users control panel and "change the way
users login". if u dont use the welcome screen if should
work fine. if not download and install TweakUI and u can
do it from there.

Goto Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2"
Then under the users tab, uncheck Users must enter a username/pass to use
this computer"
Then press ok and Enter your username/password

Or

Alternatively, you can use TweakUI for Windows XP to do this.
See the Logon/Auto-Logon Section

Hi Blaine,

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Hate to mention this Ms. Kelly but you promised access to your canned replies.
Remember??? :-) I might not need them anyway, what with PCR holding a lynching
party for me and me hanging myself. <VBG>
