AUTOMATIC Disk scan on reboot

My computer was reporting that the hard drive was full. However when you do a scan of the files it was not even 25% full. I thought maybe a reporting error on drive usage. I ran CHKDSK and it found that there was indeed a problem. It then told me that it needed to do a full scan at next boot...It asked if I wanted it to do a full scan at next boot, I said YES. Problem is: After reboot it says it has scanned drive and check is complete. However, it never reboots or goes to Windows. I have attempted to reboot in SAFEMODE.. It goes through setup and then goes back and says that it has scanned and it is complete. NEVER WILL REBOOT TO WINDOWS. Have tried to boot to last known good with same result.. HELP!!! How do I get it to by pass and load windows???

Did you say you were able to boot in safe mode, it is unclear for me if you
succeded to do so.
If you are able to get to safe more, try this:
Go start, then run and type cmd
At this point you will have a command prompt
In the command prompt type SFC /scannow and hit enter
Be sure to have your Windows CD available since it may ask you for it.
This will basically scanned all the system file and repairs them
