automatic code rewrite ?

I made a list (<ul> type) for a vertical nav bar, and saved it -- twice: once
as a stand-alone page, once within a template I'm building.

When I came back from dinner, I open the files to find that FP2003 had
changed it into a table! Now I have to code it all over again.

Why did it do this, and how do I prevent it?

I was warned off FP by users of previous versions. They said that FP had
"automatic code rewrite" that would "correct" your code, but that the 2003
version should be OK.

If you're going to leave FrontPage by itself while you eat, you deserve what
you get. You should have hired a baby-sitter.

No kidding. I left my computer alone and on all night, and the next morning the
c: task bar was showing across the top of the screen. I never even knew there
was a c: task bar. After a while I figured out what it was and got rid of it.

But how it got there? I dont even try to guess

I gave up using FrontPage about 5 years ago. It had a mind of its
own. Time to me is precious and I did not need the hassle the program
gave me.

Then out of curiosity, why are you here?

Weird, I don't know why it would "Correct" already "correct" code let alone
change unorder lists (<ul>) to tables.
I know Frontpage (earlier versions) have a few quirks, but nothing as bad or
unusal (in my experience) as you describe.
