automatic cell formatting

hi,

does anyone know if there is a way to add a border to a cell automatically when the cell displays text?

I want the cell to remain blank with no border when there is no text displayed but then if it contains text I want it to have a border.

I don't want to change the cell border each time i change the cell data.

Or to say this in a different way,


when a cell accepts a value from a different cell,is it possible to keep the formatting of the original cell?

any help appreciated
