I hope this is the right location for this post. Here it
goes; I have roughly 2000+ workstation that I need to
rename. Obviously this is a huge undertaking to do
manually. Is there a way to automate this in a logon
script or something of that sort? What the name needs to
be changed to is based on the current name of the system
so actually I only need to add H-WKS-currentname. It does
need to be a member of a Windows 2000 domain. Any help
or guidance in regards to this issue will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think this is the BEST place for your post. A better place would be:
microsoft.public.windows.server.scripting
