Is he running Autoit? From the website for it, "AutoIt v3 is a freeware
BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI
and general scripting." Do some clean boot troubleshooting:

thanks for the help Rock . not sure if he's running autoit. will b
back at his place later today and probably going to just take the p
back to other buddy for a scrub an reload of operating system. th
links you provided are of some help but his system isn't set u
properly anyhow

AutoIT is a (awesome) freeware utility. Probably someone (the friend
that installed the pc) put a little tool on the pc, but didn't take the
time to write it properly, hence the error.

Check in taskmgr which program is running that shouldn't be running
(normally this won't be with local/network service or system account,
but with the user account). Kill the process and see if you still have
the error. Check the startup folder in the start menu, the startup key
in the registry and remove any entries to this tool.

And of course make sure you have a virus scanner, firewall, antispam
program installed :-)
