Autofit/Text Wrap

I have two sentences typed in a cell which has been
formatted to autofit row height, and wrap text, and yet
the cell will not adjust to two rows of typing, a total of
32 words, or a total of 146 characters including spaces.
I don't think that's too much to type in a cell in Excel.
Any ideas?
 
One can only guess what the problem is. But I suspect the
spreadsheet might be protected.
