AutoFilter Question

Is there a way to remove the automatically displayed filter options?
In other words:

I have a spreadsheet with Apples, Bananas, and Cherries.

I want to filter by the particular fruit, but I dont want to see Top
10, Blank, Non-Blank, Custom, etc. I just want to see Apples,
Bananas, or Cherries.

Hi

I don't think this is possible, but someone might come up with a VBA
solution to achieve this.
Instead, why not use Advanced Filter, and have data validation set up in the
cell where the user selects the fruit, to just show the desired values.

Just got back from vacation...

I already have validation for my "fruit" data, but Im not sure how to
really use the Advanced filter for what I want to do. I just want a
quick way to see, in an ever growing/changing list exactly which
Apples are doing what... without any of the Orange data cluttering up
the works. (Or, vice versa).

Anyway, I will hunt around that site you pointed me towards...
