I did not receive a reply from IE or IE6 browser boards so perhaps this is a
XP question.
If I go to various websites and fill out forms containing similar entries IE
name, address, etc
I get different dropdown autofill suggestions ranging from one "M" name to
four "M" names. I thought autofill was same across the entire op system.
How can I get all suggestions to show everywhere?
Thank You
Mel

You are thinking that each site has the same form, when in fact, each page of
HTML could have exactly the same form, in appearance, but the AutoComplete
entry in the registry for each form would be separate, and in reality,
encripted, based partly on the exact address of the page.

Yes Mark that explains a lot as to why entries from one site do not carry to
another. It still leaves me wondering why repeat visits to a site do not get
the previous entered data as suggestions.
Thank you

If you go to IE, tools, Options, Content tab, AutoComplete area, Settings
button, you would see what you are telling the browser to do. If it is
failing in that regard, I suggest turring OFF autocomplete, and restarting
windows, to turn it back on again, and test it.

Autocomplete set to save everything except passwords. Will try your
suggestion and see over the next few days.
