Hi,

I have autocomplete enabled and I receive the prompt to
save id/password for websites. But even though I
reply "yes" to save the id/password,the next time I log
onto that site I still have to enter everything and then
I'm still prompted to the save the info. again. It's a new
PC and I never messsed with any settings that would cause
this not to work, atleast I don't think I did. Thanks to
anyone who can help.

Hello, I'm not sure that this is what you want or that this will fix it but
here's something you can try if you'd like.

Open IE, click on tools, Internet Options, Content Tab, AutoComplete tab,
and then make sure that all the boxes are ticked and if you want you can
delete them once and clear them out to give it a good fresh start... Some
cleaning utilities, e.g. system mechanic from www.iolo.com would delete such
things. Some even have settings to clean that stuffs every time you close or
reboot. Have you used any of those?

I tried what you said and it still doesn't save
id/password info. And I haven't installed anything that
would delete that info, unless my norton antivirus is. I
use the admin. acct. for XP home since I'm the only
user, could the admin. acct. be doing it? This only happens
on sites where it doesn't already offer a option to save
your logon info. Thanks again for any help.

I looked at the microsoft website listed and is states
this info is for win2000. Will it work for XP home too?

Hi,

This works for Auto Complete as well. Follow this process.

Outlook Express keeps prompting for your password

Checkpoint:

Close IE. Then go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc
Scroll down to Protected Storage. Note the Status column. If Protected
Storage is running, Started will appear under Status.
