AutoComplete not working

Even though the internet options content box with autocomplete is on (all
boxes checked) it is not saving my logon name and password on a particular
site. I have to retype each time I log on. I don't want to have to retype
each time. How can I get it to work?
 
If it's only on the one site, the chances are the author of said site has it
programmed to not accept the auto sign in and for some reason wants to put
you through that procedure every time.

And the software used on some sites running forums uses a cookie for the
purpose, and will log you in every time *provided* you only close the
browser on them and do *not* log out
