Autocomplete from Contacts?

Unlike Outlook Express, it appears that Windows Mail does use Contacts when
it is doing autocomplete when you are typing in email addresses when
composing an email. Instead it seems to be using some random subset of email
adresses that have been seen by the program (including ones that are obsolete
and deleted from Contacts.. yet missing new ones that have been added to
Contacts). Typing them into the "To" line does not seem to always help. It's
quite unpredictable.

Is there anyway to make Windows Mail just use the contents of the Contacts
folder for autocomplete?

No, this is one of WM's design defects. It only remembers a
maximum of 29 recently-sent-to recipients.
By contrast, auto-completion works well in WLM.

I'm sure you'll be pleased. Report back on your impression of WLM.
Note: We are getting hints from Microsoft reps in the WLM newsgroup
that a new public release of WLM is being prepared; I'm guessing two
weeks or less.

Is there anyway to fix this in the registry? WLM is too top heavy for many
of us. What we really want is OE.

No way to fix it in the registry, Windows Mail has been abandoned in favor
of WLM.

No, there is no way to fix that limitation in Windows Mail.
Have you tried WLM? It is plenty fast enough for me.
