When Windows XP professional boots I get an error messages that says the
"autochk.exe" file is missing. There is a short delay of a few seconds and
then XP continues to boot. How can I reinstall the autochk.exe file without
having to reinstall XP completely?

Thanks..

a.. AUTOCHK.EXE: this file is located at \system32\autochk.exe
You can try a System File Check . Start>Run type: sfc
/scannow Have the WinXP CD in the cdrom drive.

I have the same kind of problem except that when it says that it cant find the file it restarts the computer....anyone have any ideas since i cant even load up windows to replace the file?
