In setting up a new computer, I get a message that for
AutoCad Architectural Desktop, Rl 2 (AutoCad 2000), XP Pro
is an improper OS. AutoDesk offers no help and I hope
that someone will know how to get these two packages to
work together.

Thanks for your help.

I'm afraid I don't have any solutions for you but, I am running AutoCAD 2000
on my XP machine with no problems. It is the full version, not the
architectural but that should make no difference. That is all to say, XP and
AutoCAD are compatible, unless maybe, you have a Mac version, if there is
such a thing????

LOL JAX

Autodesk is not going to patch a version of AutoCad just for you. You are
expected to upgrade to a Windows XP compatible version, as the rest of us
have.

Use the compatibility wizard and set the setup program to be a Win2000
program.

I installed and use AutoCad 2000 on XP Pro without any problems.
