Hey everyone,

We are running a Windows 2k3 domain and Exchange 2k3. Our users are using
Outlook 2003. We want to FORCE users to AutoArchive SOME of their Outlook
data once their mailboxes get too big. Is there a way to do that with a GPO
or something? We don't want to have to go around and touch each system to
set this up.

Once we push the settings, we don't want the users to be able to over ride
our settings.

Thanks,

Clayton

That depends on what you mean by "SOME."

Take a look at the AutoArchive and Retention settings policies in the Group Policy Editor (the .adm administrative template file is in the Office Resource Kit download). You might also consider using the Mailbox Manager for Exchange.

Sue,

Thanks for the input but I have not been able to locate the .adm
administrative template file. I checked http://office.microsoft.com. Maybe
I'm just missing it but it doesn't seem to be listed on that site. Any
other info. on where I can get it?

Thnaks,

Clayton

Sue,

You are the MAN!!! (So to speak) :)

Thank you VERY much.

The Office Resource Kit downloads page is at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/orkarchive/2003ddl.htm. Assuming you have
SP1, get the Office 2003 Policy Template Files and Deployment Planning Tools
download.
