Does anyone know how I can save auto text to a disk or zip drive, or export it? My boss's computer needs to be rebuilt and has many auto text entries I would like to save. Where is this information stored on the hard drive (path) can I copy and paste to a different drive, and how do I reimport it when the computer is rebuilt? PLEASE HELP! The computer is about ready to go down.

Hi, Valerie,

While that article is helpful, it doesn't specifically mention AutoText. If
you follow the first orange link in the article to
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/WhatTemplatesStore.htm, you find out
that AutoText is stored in templates -- and if the "Look in" box of the
AutoText dialog has never been changed, then by default they're all in the
Normal.dot template. Back up that file and you've backed up the AutoText
entries (plus a lot more, but not all, customizations).
