I have just upgraded my PC from ME to XP Pro. Now when I shut down the PC,
the PC shuts down but the CPU fan continues to run until I push the power
button. How do I get the PC to completely turn off automatically, like it did
before I installed XP Pro.

Hello , Sounds like there is a program unwilling to shut down . My first
step would be to run all of the Spyware removers in safe mode ... Restart /
begin tapping {key} f8 continously until you reach Safe Mode screen .

What I find odd is the computer will shut down, mopnitor balcks out and you
hear it power down. It is only the Cpu fan that is running.

Hi Justin,

Go to the Control Panel/Power options, on the advanced tab you may need to
enable APM. It is not enabled by default during installation.

Push the button. The exercise may let you live ten years longer.
