Auto rounding in Workbook/Worksheet page

In Excel 2000, we are having issue of excel auto formating
dates and numbers only way to fix is to add a ending
decimal point ahead of the final 2 numbers.

Example is

type 2001 character return
result in cell is 20.01

200000
result 2000

Am sure there should be a fix any help would be great.

Tools>Options>Edit, Uncheck Fixed decimal

Uncheck the box "Fixed Decimals", found under Tools >
Options > Edit tab.
