G Guest Dec 7, 2005 #1 Hello ladies and gentlemen! Is there a way to auto-release the IP on shutdown? Thanks!
D Doug Sherman [MVP] Dec 7, 2005 #2 Yes: 1. Use NotePad to create a file with this command: ipconfig /release 2. Save the file as release.bat in WINDOWS\System32\Group Policy\Machine\Scripts\Shutdown 3. Run gpedit.msc and navigate to Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Scripts/Shutdown - add the script.
