Auto-Purge of Deleted Messages

Can somebody help me with a nagging annoyance. I have
Outlook set up with my internet email (IMAP). When I
delete messages they continue to appear, only with a
strike-though marked through them. I then have to go Edit-
Purge Deleted Messages to make them disappear for good.

Is there a way to have Outlook automatically purge all
deleted messages immediately upon deleting them?

outlook doesn't support auto-purge.
