When I insert a disk or card into a Zip (D) or Card
Reader (G) Drive (for example), my Auto Play feature is
no longer operating. I now must manually access the
drive (D,G, etc), open "Properties" and then select
the "Auto Play" menu. Although I had previously
successfully selected the Auto Play menu to "Prompt me
each time to choose a selection" (the Default setting),
now there is no setting that works. I am utiling Home
Edition on a Dell Dimension 8200. Thank you, Steve

Thank you, Will. However, the "fix" didn't do the
trick. Although the end result said Auto Play
was "working properly," it still is not on drives G
(card reader) and D (zip drive). Same problem still
exists. However, I appreciate you letting me know about
the Windows XP "fix page." I am certain it will solve
some problems in the future.

Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve
Do I take it that you have connected the 'drive' then right-clicked, gone to
Properties, Autoplay and selected what you wanted it to do and then selected
'always perform this action'.
If so how about doing a System Restore to a time when you know it was
working. I once had to do that when mine stopped working and no matter what
I did I couldn't put it right.
